Collision off Taichung
The 'Ginga Caracal', en route to Shanghai, had a collision with the fishing vessel 'Zin Fa Cai 66' on Aug 26, 2019, 37 kilometres, northwest of the port of Taichung, Taiwan. The Taiwan Coast Guard was alerted about the incident at 06.22 a.m. and sent two vessels to the collision scene. The 'Zin Fa Cai 66' had sustained damage to its port side and a broken mast. None of the five crew members were hurt. The 'Ginga Caracal' had damage to its starboard side, with no injuries to its crew members either. Following the accident, both vessels were escorted by the Coast Guard to Taichung to clarify responsibility for the incident.
