On March 15th, 2014 , the brandnew ' Backhoe Dredger ' of the Flemish dredging company Jan De Nul started operating for the first time. The " GIAN LORENZO BERNINI " will conduct dredging works along the deepwater quays , along the new quay of CHD container on Westerhoofd of the Zeebrugge harbor . Within the next three weeks in the port of Zeebrugge the dredger will conduct dredging works at three different locations The " GIAN LORENZO BERNINI ' is of the type ' Ravenstein 900 B ' and was built at a Dutch shipyard . The dredger is 60.0 mter long , 18.0 meters wide and has a draft of 3.10 meters . A hydraulic ' excavator ' onboard whioch is able to operate upto waterdepths to 30 mtr was built by Liebherr , model P995 . The total installed capacity of this' Backhoe Dredger ' is 2,150 kW , the power of the Liebherr P995 is 1,750 kW . During the execution of the dredging this dredger moves on a hyper modern system of spuds .
