Engine failure off Büyükçekmece
The 'Forester' suffered an engine failure off the coast of Büyükçekmece on Jan 25, 2026, en route from İzmir to the Russian port Poti. The ship was taken in tow by the tug 'Kurtarma 11' ((IMO: 9854399) and was safely moored at the Ambarlı Anchorage in pos. 40° 56' N 028° 38' E under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center and with the assistance of a pilot.
