Tanker disabled in Bosphorus
In the night of March 11, 2022, the 'Atoll' suffered a rudder failure under the bridge '15 Temmuz Şehitler Köprüsü' in the Bosphorus, en route from Aliaga to Türkeli. Coastal Safety deployed the tugs 'Kurtarma 6', 'Kurtarma 7' and 'Kurtarma 11' to assist as well as the lifeboat 'KEGM 3'. The tanker was anchored at Kuruçeşme in Ahırkapı, under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, accompanied by the pilot boat 'Nene Hatun'. As of March 12, the ship remained moored in pos. 40° 58.71 N 028° 57.36' E.
