Tanker located distressed boat people
Early on Oct 10, 2022, the 'Flagship Ivy' located a rubber boat in distress en route from New Orleans to Algeciras in the North Atlantic. Salvamento Marítimo was notified and deplyed the SAR boat'Salvamar Macondo' and the Helimer 203 helicopter to the scene. 23 people were rescued from the boat at 03:40 a.m. 64,4 kilometers south of Gran Canaria. The castaways were disembarked at the Arguineguín dock at 06:38 a.m. in good health.
