Filla

The 'Filla' has been taken out of service onm March 5, 2026, and sidelined in Kymbister, following the winding up of the port side propeller by a section of discarded rope, while three other Shetland Islands Council ferries – the 'Geira', 'Daggri' and 'Hendra' were out of action too due to planned dry dock, reducing some services to a single vessel. At a council meeting on March 9, the fragility of the inter-island services was highlighted, with no spare ferries left in the fleet at the moment. With scheduled dry dock coming soon too, the decision has been made to keep the ferry out of service in the meantime, with the 'Fivla' covering until the 'Filla' returned. Some elements of the repair will require the vessel to be taken out of the water, and as the vessel was already scheduled for annual dry-docking in early April,it will remain out of service until that time. Ahead of this scheduled departure to dry-dock, repairs to the gearbox continued.

The service connecting the community of Skerries to the mainland of Shetland has been disrupted on Jan 20, 2020, after a crew member of the 'Filla' was contacted by Test and Protect team and told to have a Covid test. The council run service was due to resume on Jan 21, either with the current crew or a replacement crew. In the nightof Jan 20 the Covid test came back negative.
