Quay allision following rudder failure
Coming from the TPQ – Petrochemical Terminal in Sines the "Elevit" suffered rudder failure in the morning of Aug 31, 2013, while entering Ijmuiden on the Noordzee Canal. The ship suffenly veered to port and allided with the quay at Veelsen-North after having passed the lock. The bulbous bow of the vessel was significantly damaged in the impact.
