Crew member hoisted after having been hit by boom in Solent
A crew member of the "Eleonora E" has been hit by a boom and was evacuated from the schooner in the Solent in the afternoon of July 28, 2015. The Bembridge RNLI were tasked to launch their all weather lifeboat by Solent Coastguard at just before 2.10 p.m. after the crew of the luxury yacht declared a medical emergency on board. The Coastguard Rescue 104 from Lee-on-Solent has scrambled to the scene while the volunteer crew of the Bembridge Lifeboat worked to transfer the casualty from the yacht. At 3.30 p.m. the casualty wasairlifted to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. The victim was conscious and breathing.
