ReCAAP reports: On 16 Oct 12 at or about 0405 hrs (local time) bulk carrier Bulk Neptune was anchored at Muara Berau Anchorage, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Makassar Strait, Indonesia, in pos 00 15.67 N 117 35.65E, when two A/B crew while conducting security deck patrol onboard the vessel saw three unknown men at the forecastle. The crew reported the presence of the men to the duty officer, and approached the men to inquire what they were doing at the forecastle. One of the men armed with a knife, kicked and punched one of the A/B crew who sustained minor injures on his back, lips and knees. The two A/B crew then returned to the accommodation. The men also took a wrist watch from one of the A/B crew. The general alarm was raised and crew mustered on the bridge. Subsequent checks by the crew revealed that the three men broke the padlock from the anchor hawse pipe cover to board the bulk carrier.
