Detention at Newport
The 'Federica' was detained at Newport (Gwent) on March 20, 2026, after an expanded inspection by the Paris MoU. The checks covered the accommodation and galley, cargo area, engine room, navigation bridge, decks and forecastle, ballast tanks and steering room while emergency steering and fire drills were also observed. The inspection revealed fire and water ingress systems Issues. The bulk carrier was released again on March 22 and left the port en route to Glasgow with an ETA as of Marc 23.
