Federal-Mayumi

On May 13, 2020, at 9:43 p.m., the CROSS Etel was alerted due to the disappearance of one of the 22 crew members of the "Federal Mayumi". Upon receipt of the alert, the disappearance of the sailor appeared to be several hours ago, and the vessel was located 75 nautical miles west of the Island of Oléron. The CROSS Etel immediately sent out a a warning message and deployed a Cayman helicopter of the French frigate "Bretagne" which was already at sea off the French coast. After several hours of search, and in the absence of new information, the Maritime Prefect of the Atlantic decided on May 14 at 4:50 a.m., to suspend the operation. The bulkcarrier was enroute from Montreal to Bordeaux with a cargo of cereals with an initial ETA as of May 13.

Fednav Limited held a reception on board one of its vessels, the Federal Mayumi, at the Port of Cleveland yesterday to celebrate a trio of anniversaries: the 70th year since the founding of the company, 55 years of continuous general cargo liner service from FALLine and 50 years since the establishment of its terminal division, FMT (Federal Marine Terminals).
