Allision off Sao Francisco Do Sul
The "Federal Hunter" allided with the channel fairway buoy at São Francisco Do Sul, while proceeding to its berth, on March 20, 2019. The ship arrived in the port around 6.30 a.m. The accident occurred upon its arrival from Rio Grande, where it had sailed on March 18.
Last ship of the year arrived at Port of Milwaukee on Wednesday, December 16th
International cargo continued moving at a strong pace through the Port of Milwaukee in 2015, and Wednesday, December 16th will bring the last ship arriving through the St. Lawrence Seaway to Milwaukee this year. The Federal Hunter is set to unload 3,500 tons of steel products – raw material used by local manufacturers. 'Federal Hunter" earliest "saltie" ever to reach Twin Ports (Duluth/Superior)
The first oceangoing ship of the season is expected to reach the Twin Ports Friday afternoon (March 29, 2013). That will be the earliest arrival ever for a "saltie" making a full transit of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway system. The Hong Kong-flagged Federal Hunter is currently expected to arrive around midafternoon on March 29. Once it enters the port, it will go to the CHS grain elevator in Superior. A sister ship, the Cyprus-flagged Federal Elbe, is expected to reach the Twin Ports over the weekend. The previous earliest arrival of an oceangoing ship was April 1, 1995, by the India-flagged L/T Argosy.
