Seven injured in explosion
ON july 11, 2024, at around 9:40 a.m. an explosion occurred on the Eiyu Maru No. 10, which was moored at the pier of a cement factory in Kanda (Fukuoka). The Fire Department was called by people from UBE Mitsubishi Cement Kyushu to help the injured. Seven men who were on board or at the pier suffered burns and were taken to hospital. None of them are at risk of death, although three were in serious condition. When the ship's cargo hatch was opened, the explosion occurred, without fire.
