Trawler ran aground off Brottøya
On the evening of Nov 29, 2025, the "Gadus Neptun" ran aground in Raftsundet on a trip northwards: The trawler got stuck off Brottøya in the far north of Raftsundet. The ship managed to free itself unassisted and was not taking on water. There have been no reports of pollution. The vessel headed towards the shore with a speed of about five knots, as a precaution after the incident. The lifeboat RS "Sundt Flyer" escorted the trawler to the quay in Svolvær, where divers would examine the hull more closely.
