Engine failure near Ayvalik
The "Alferdawi-1", en route from Aqaba to Braila in ballast, suffered a technical failure and sheltered at Ayvalik anchorage under own power on Oct 12, 2018, Repairs were being carried out by the crew and the vessel remained stationary at anchorage position on Oct 13.
Ship seized after dumping dead sheep
The Egyptian authorities seized the "Alferdawi 1" for illegal dumping of dead sheep in the Red Sea near the Hurghada resort and the Giftun islands on May 9, 2018. At least 25 dead sheep were spotted and collected, and the ship was taken to Safaga. The owner was now facing a fine and had to cover all the expenses incurred by the dead sheep recovery. The vessel was en route from Romania to Jordan.
