Ege-m

The 'Ege M', enroute from the Russian port of Novorossiysk to Hatay, suffered a steering malfunction on Dec 30, 2025, at 7.50 a.m., while transiting thr Bosphorus, and went adrift. It could only be stopped a few meters off a pier in Beşiktaş, causing panic there, before stopping and moving backward again. Following checks, the malfunction was repaired by the crew, and it was safely moored at the Ahırkapı Anchorage under the escort of Coastal Safety tugs. Ship traffic, which was briefly halted, returned to normal after the ship was safely anchored in pos. 40° 59' N 028° 57' E.
