Mechanical failure off Grenaa
The 'Eeva VG', being fully loaded en route from Loviisa to Amsterdam with an ETA as of Dec 21, suffered a mechanical failure near Grenaa on Dec 8, 2025. The ship was disabled and dropped anchor. It was taken in tow to the port of destination on Dec 16 by the tug 'Anteos' (IMO: 9223681), which had been called from Ulsteinvik. On the morning of Dec 17 it entered the Kiel Canal with the stern tug 'OSK Rendsburg' and moored in Brunsbüttel the same evening, where it remained stationary as of Dec 19. Royal Bodewes of Hoogezand delivers Eeva VG
In April this year, Royal Bodewes of Hoogezand started a new site at nearby Papenburg for fitting out newbuildings. The first casco arrived in April from Szczecin and EEVA VG was delivered end of September to Finnish VG-Shipping. Together with her upcoming sister MIRVA VG, these 4850 tdw cargo ships have been designed to highest environmental standards, including the use of bio fuel made e.g. from utilized vegetable oils, special paint, and LED lights.
