The Montrose Lifeboat was requested to launch on Nov 26, 2021, at 11.30 p.m. to assist the 'Eems Cobalt' whhich was dragging its anchor and was in danger of running aground at the south end of Lunan Bay. The Lifeboat launched and made best speed to the area but was hampered by the very rough weather conditions. Once on scene the crew carried out a visual check of the port side of the vessel to check for damage. Shortly after this check was carried out, the Arbroath Lifeboat arrived and did the same on the starboard side. No damage was found. The vessel was able to make two knots of speed at best. It was decided to escort her to safer waters approx four miles from the shore. Once there, both lifeboats were stood down.
