Ferry damaged dock in Edøya

In the morning of March 1, 2020, the 'Edøyfjord' broke lose from the quay in Edøya and was taken with the wind, damaging the ferry dock. The passenger boat 'Møreskyss' with a capacity of a maximum of 33 passengers was inserted between Edøya and Sandvika around 6 p.m. Crews from Merta were taken to the site aboard the ferry 'Stordal', and soon after their arrival repairs were in full swing. At 9 p.m. also the transport of passenger vehicles was possible again.

In the evening of Aug 18, 2019, a crew member of the "Edøyfjord", which runs between Edøya and Sandvika, was injured in an accident on board. He was transported to hospital and there treated for his slight injuries.

Propeller fouled by rope - passengers spent five hours in storm

On Nov 16, 2013, at 10.30 p.m. the "Edøyfjord got its propeller fouled by a rope while trying to dock at Edøya. It turned out to be a rough rope of 10-15 centimeters in diameter which was 10 meters long. The ship with five passengers on board which has two engine systems and two thrusters left the bay again on the still working engine in an attempt to get the engine running again and get rid of the obstruction. It was then decided to sail from Edøya to Kristiansund on the remaining engine to get the damage investigated. The lifeboat "Erik Bye" was called to assist the ferry in the storm which forced to proceed with low speed. The ship arrived on Nov 16 at 5.30 a.m. In Kristiansund divers went down to check the propellers and quickly got loosened the rope from the propeller. The crew, after having tested the engine and propeller, had to take a rest after the long night. Sailings on the the ferry route between Edøy and Sandvika were resumed at 11:10 a.m.
