Allision in Brunsbüttel
On Jan 31, 2026, at 10:35 a.m., the "Eco Ostro", enroute from Kotka to Antwerp, allided with the central wall while entering the new southern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel. The incident was filed while the ship was still in the lock chamber. It was permitted to continue its voyage short past noon and arrived in the port of destination on Feb 1 at 8.30 p.m. UTC.
Two X-Press Feeders Group allided with lock in Kiel within oned day
Enroute from Kotka to Antwerp, the "Eco Ostro" allided with the brickwork of the chamber of rhe north lock chamber in Kiel while entering the Kiel Canal on Jan 17, 2026, at around 7 p.m., and caused damage to the structure. Parts of the brickwork fell into the lock chamber which had to be closed for ship traffic. On Jan 19, divers were scheduled to inspect the damage to the brickwork. The duration of the closure therefore was still uncertain. The "Eco Ostro" suffered only scratches to its hull and was able to continue its journey two hours late, after the Kiel Water Police had assessed the damage. It berthed at the PSA North Sea Terminal in the port of destination on Jan 19 at 6 a.m. UTC. Only one day later another ship of the X Press Feaders, the 'Eco Ponente (IMO: 9985966), also allided with the last remaining lock in Kiel, causing damage to fenders.
