Medevac in Chesapeake Bay
The US Coast Guard medevaced a man experiencing illness aboard the "Evoikos Theo" in Chesapeake Bay on Mar 3, 2017. The Coast Guard received a request for the medevac at approximately 7:15 p.m. from the vessel. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew launched from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, arrived on scene with the "Evoikos Theo" just west of Cape Charles, and hoisted the man to the helicopter in a rescue basket. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk for treatment.
