On Aug 4, 2015, the "Eagle Varna" was reported by a passing vessel as disabled and adrift in the Indian ocean, about 115 miles WNW of Banda Aceh. According to VHF talk the tanker was disabled by a mechanical failure. The tanker was en route from Port Klang to Fujairah.
