Medevac off Galveston
The US Coast Guard medevaced a 23-year-old mariner fromthe "Eagle Louisiana" near Galveston, Texas, on July 24, 2018. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report from the tanker about a crewmember who began exhibiting symptoms of heat exhaustion. Watchstanders notified the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew on a training mission was diverted to the scene. The mariner was hoisted and transported to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. The mariner was reported to be in stable condition.
