Medevac in Arabian Sea
On Aug 16, 2023, the Indian Coast Guard medevaced the Chinese crew member Yin Weigyang from the 'Dong Fang Kan Tan No 2', en route from China to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), after he complained of severe chest pain and exhibited symptoms indicative of a cardiac arrest. The MRCC in Mumbai deployed a helicopter from the Coast Guard Air Station Daman which hoisted the patient approximately 200 kilometers within the expanse of the Arabian Sea. He was rendered initial medical aid and was transported to a medical facility located in Daman.
