Grounding off Itoshima City
The "Swertia" ran aground in the waters off Itoshima City in Fukuoka in the evening June 1, 2019, en route from Ube to Hongkong. The Karatsu Coastguard was alerted and monitoring the grounded vessel. A tug was called to refloat and tow the vessel away from the shallow waters which succeded on June 4. The Karatsu Coast Guard interrogated the captain and crew to determine the cause of the incident. Swertia After the ship was refloated, it was towed to Karatsu where it remained stationary in Tobo port by July 24. It sailed from the port on July 31, bound for Ningbo with an ETA as of Aug 3.
