Passenger fell over board and remained missing

A passenger fell overboard from the "Disney Wonder" on Nov 22. The 73-year-old nanwent overboard around 4:30 a.m. The ship turned around in the Tasman Sea and searched for the missing man for hours. Crew members scanned the water with thermal imaging cameras, but he remained missing. The "Disney Wonder" continued its voyage from Melbourne and was expected to arrive in Auckland a day late.

Small fire due to short circuit

A small fire broke out on the 'Disney Wonder' in the night of Nov 23, 2022, due to an electrical short circuit in the speaker system. The fire was on a speaker high up behind the giant Funnel Vision screen. Initially, smoke was rising, then progressively larger flames were visible. The fire was not directly near guests, but the screen and speaker are mounted on the funnel that houses Vibe, the teen club. Firefighters reported to the scene and put out the fire. Medevac off Grays Harbor

A Coast Guard aircrew medevaced a passenger from the 'Disney Wonder' in the evening of April 27, 2022, approximately 180 miles offshore of Grays Harbor, Washington. At 5:21 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a call from the cruise ship. reporting a 71-year-old passenger who appeared to be experiencing uncontrollable internal bleeding. The 13th Coast Guard District Command Center and Sector Columbia River requested that the vessel change course toward Astoria to reduce flying distance. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Sector Columbia River arrived on scene at 9:36 p.m. accompanied by a Life-Flight nurse to assist with the patient. At 10:19 p.m., the aircrew completed the hoist and transported the patient back to Astoria. Around 11:30 p.m., the patient was transferred to a Life-Flight crew for further medical care in Portland.

Eddie Burgos Ragodon, a Filipino who worked as a painter on the 'Disney Wonder' died on June 23, 2020. The ship was currently docked in Curacao. The man had visited the medical center on the vessel in recent days suffering from chills and fever. The 'Disney Wonder' is sailing around the Caribbean to repatriate crew who have been stuck onboard since the industry shut down in March. DCL-Disney Cruise Line will test Ragodon for Coronavirus. At least 255 people onboard the 'Disney Wonder' have tested positive for Coronavirus since March 1, making it among the largest cruise ship outbreaks. The vessel has a “provisionally green” status from the Centers, meaning there has not been any crew showing COVID-19-like illnesses for 28 days. According to the company, the last positive COVID-19 case onboard was on May 8. The ship docked in San Diego CA on March 19 and dropped off her last passengers after the cruise industry shut down on March 13. A number of passengers and crew tested positive and had to be hospitalized. Eddie Burgos Ragodon continued to work as part of the essential crew while others had been isolated in separate cabins. In early May, DCL tested all crew onboard using PCR tests after the crew members were isolated in their cabins for a number of weeks. The majority of those who tested positive in May were asymptomatic.
