Port State Control inspectors of the Port Authority of Naples on Nov 24, 2021, detained the 'Alda' at the Gesil terminal for serious violations of international safety regulations of human life at sea, including the malfunction of devices for the entry of water into the cargo tanks, non-compliant international certifications, irregularities in the stipulation of seafarers' contracts, out-of-use life-saving devices as well as lack of familiarization of the crew in the use of important on-board equipment for the prevention of pollution at sea. The detention order was issued by the Navigation Safety inspection team at the end of more than 10 hours of intense activity on board. The ship remained stationary as of Nov 29.
