The enizcilik Genel Müdürlüğü (General Directorate of Maritime Affairs) has taken action on Oct 27, following allegations that the crew of the 'Didim Fatsa', which was anchored in Bandırma, was suffering from a lack of provisions. Following an investigation and coordination, the ship was provided with water, provisions, and cleaning materials. The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs is closely monitoring the situation. Engine failure in the Çanakkale Strait
On the evening of Sep 19, 2025, the 'Didim Fatsa', en route from Aliağa to Bandırma, suffered an engine failure in front of Gocuk Burnu (Lat. 40.3320 Lng. 26.6304) during the transit of the Çanakkale Strait. The ship was moored at the Şevketiye Anchorage (Lat. 40.4189 Lng. 26.8345) with the assistance of the tug.'Kurtarma 17' (IMO: 9942990), under coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center. Other vessels passing through the Strait were also informed of the situation. On the morning of Sep 21, the vessel resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Sep 25.
