On 27-FEB-2011 at 04:35 LT, The Liberia Flag Tanker 'MS SIMON' was robbed while at anchor in position 1 19' 0" N, 104 17' 0" E, 2.5nm S.W. off Pulau Mungging Island, Malaysia on bearing 18. Five pirates armed with machetes and handguns boarded the tanker and stole two computers and spare parts from the engine room before escaping in a waiting speed boat. No crew were injured during the incident which was reported to local authorities. The 'MS SIMON' was enroute from Haldia, India to Pasir Gudang, Johor Port Malaysia.
