Oldendorff takes another post-panamax
German shipping mammoth Oldendorff has been tipped by brokers as the buyer of a Seacon post-panamax bulker. Oldendorff is believed to have paid just under $14m for Seacon’s only post-panamax, the 229m long Royal Maybach. Oldendorff’s fleet features 24 post-panamaxes, a sector it started to build up just three years ago.

Bulkcarrier refloated after 45 days
Argentinian authorities have confirmed that the "Johannes Wulff" was refloated on July 9 and taken to an anchorage off Montevideo, ending a 45-day grounding ordeal off Argentina. Salvage operations had focussed on lightening the vessel by transhipping its cargo. There were no reports of it incurring any structural damage. The bulkcarrier had run aground on May 26 on the Rio De La Plata in position 35 02S 057 09W, while en route from Rosario to Gibraltar. The Liberian cargo m/v "HR Constitution" was moored alongside on July 10.
